Darius McNeill brings veteran lead-guard steadiness to Troy
McNeill is a seasoned 6-foot-3 guard whose value is built on playmaking, efficiency, and poise: in his 2022-23 Troy season, he averaged 6.4 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and shot 45.6% from the field, while also delivering a season-high 18 points on 9-of-11 shooting against Marshall.[1][2] He’s the kind of fit coaches like because he can handle the ball, create for others, and play within structure rather than hunting highlight plays, though his three-point shooting has been inconsistent and his earlier foot injury history is worth monitoring.[1][2]
