Wade Fletcher was a matchup nightmare for Columbia
In the 2003 season, Columbia TE Wade Fletcher was a rare offensive engine: 874 receiving yards, nine touchdowns, and a national reputation as one of the Ivy’s most dangerous tight ends. He mixed receiver-like ball skills with a big-frame target profile, and his production held up even after missing the first two games of 2004 due to injury. The fit is obvious: if you want a TE who can stress seams, win in space, and tilt coverage, Fletcher was exactly that kind of weapon—more mismatch than mere blocker.
