High-motor Illinois State LB with special-teams juice and a blue-collar edge
Wedig is a 6-foot-4, 230-pound linebacker for Illinois State who has shown a knack for making disruptive, high-effort plays, including a standout 2022 spring scrimmage where he posted 12 tackles, 2 sacks, 4.0 tackles for loss, and a forced fumble. He also brings proven special-teams value, with a recovered punt that set up points for the Redbirds in 2022. The appeal here is his size, relentlessness, and versatility—he looks like a physical, assignment-sound fit for teams that want linebackers who can run, hit, and contribute beyond just base defense.
