Young, physical corner with starter upside for Gardner-Webb
Jamari Nelson is a developing **cover corner** who earned starter-level attention at Gardner-Webb after moving into the lineup late in the season and being described by the staff as a young defender with “excellent physical tools.” In 2022, he played in eight games and logged tackles in the opener against Limestone and against FBS opponent Liberty, while his high school résumé shows he was a productive two-way athlete with ball skills and playmaking instincts. He looks like a fit for a team that values upside, competitiveness, and long-term development over instant stat production.[2][1]
