Ari Mercado brings New York guard toughness and efficient free-throw touch to William & Mary
In the 2025-26 season, Ari Mercado was a freshman guard for William & Mary who appeared in 24 games, averaging 2.0 points, 19 rebounds, nine assists and 13 steals while shooting 90% from the free-throw line.[6] Her calling card is quick-hit scoring, ball pressure and hustle plays—she was the all-time leading scorer at East New York Family Academy with more than 2,000 points and was described by William & Mary as a “versatile scoring point guard” with New York City flair.[5][7] She looks like a good fit for a team that values pace, competitiveness and guard depth, especially if it wants a scrappy, high-energy creator who can grow into more offensive usage.[6][7]
