Malachi Ruffin brings veteran versatility to WVU’s secondary
A sixth-year Mountaineer, Malachi Ruffin is a battle-tested, do-it-all defensive back who has logged 46 career games and 16 starts for West Virginia, with his biggest value coming from versatility, special teams toughness, and steady back-end experience. In the 2023 season, he finished with 37 tackles and 5 passes defended, and earlier in his WVU career he showed playmaking juice with 2 interceptions and a pick-six in the 2022 season. He’s a former walk-on who earned a scholarship, which says a lot about his competitiveness and reliability.
