Art Brown was a bruising, high-end ECU back who flashed elite scoring punch
Art Brown’s best ECU seasons came in 2002 and 2004, when he paired 1,029 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns in 2002 with a reputation as one of Conference USA’s most dangerous red-zone weapons; he also added 181 receiving yards and 3 receiving scores that year, showing real two-way utility. He missed the entire 2003 season with a knee injury, so the big question with Brown was always durability versus production — when healthy, he looked like a physical, versatile back who could finish drives and tilt game plans.
