Kurt Mattes brings size, grit, and team-first juice to Northwestern’s offensive line
In his Northwestern career, Kurt Mattes was a 6-6, 295-pound offensive lineman who started 20 games and primarily played right tackle, with coaches praising his infectious attitude, hard work, passion, and dedication. He also earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in 2007, which adds a smart, dependable layer to the profile. That combination of physical length, consistency, and locker-room value makes him the kind of lineman coaches trust when they want toughness without drama.
