Wake Forest’s Derricus Ellis: a long, experienced edge presence with Power 4 size
Derricus Ellis is a 6-foot-2, 240-pound redshirt senior DE at Wake Forest, giving the Demon Deacons an experienced, sturdy edge body with Power 4-ready measurables[1]. His biggest selling point is maturity: as a veteran on the roster, he brings depth, discipline, and the kind of practice consistency coaches trust, even if he’s not a headline-grabbing stat monster[1][3]. For a team looking for a reliable rotational defender who can hold the edge, Ellis fits better as a dependable glue piece than a flashy sack artist[1].
