NJIT’s Smith Washington IV arrives as a fresh-armed RHP with upside
Smith Washington IV is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound freshman right-hander on NJIT’s 2026 roster, and the main thing to watch is projection: he’s new to the college game, so the early read is more about ceiling than established stats. The differentiator here is starter-quality upside in a clean, low-drama frame — the kind of arm that can develop quickly if the strike throwing and pitch mix come along. If you’re hunting for immediate track record, that’s the catch; if you want a young arm to mold, he’s the interesting bet.
