Tough, low-usage Utah State back who brought veteran depth
Makakona was a senior back for Utah State in the 2022 season who logged 20 carries for 60 yards across four games, with his most productive outing coming against Weber State. His profile is more about sturdy depth than flash: at 5-foot-10 and 210 pounds, he offered a compact build and experience, but the production suggests a rotational role rather than a featured workload. For a team, he fits as a physical, no-drama depth option with maturity and familiarity in the system, though he was not a high-volume or high-impact statistical driver in his Utah State stint.
