Austin Venable
C FR School TBD
veteran Blue Hose center with efficient interior touch
Austin Venable is a 6'9", 260-pound center whose calling card has been efficient paint scoring and physicality; in the 2016 season at Presbyterian, he averaged 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds while shooting 51.4% from the field, and ESPN listed him at 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds. His value is the old-school stuff: sturdy frame, contact tolerance, and a soft finishing touch around the rim. If a team wants a reliable low-post body who can absorb hits and keep possessions simple, Venable fits the bill.
