Michelle Weaver brought elite defense and high-IQ two-way guard play to Butler
In the 2018-19 season, Michelle Weaver was Butler’s defensive engine, winning BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year after leading the conference and ranking seventh nationally with 107 steals (3.24 per game). She also handled the ball cleanly, finishing second in the BIG EAST in assist-turnover ratio (2.10) while adding 147 assists and 6.9 points per game. The fit is obvious if you want a guard who pressures the ball, creates chaos, and keeps an offense organized; the downside is she wasn’t a volume scorer, so her value comes from disruption, toughness, and steady two-way impact.
