Mattie Hatcher brings quick-trigger shooting and bench spark for Samford
Hatcher is a compact, movement-friendly guard whose main value is floor spacing: in the 2022-23 season at Samford, she hit 37.0% from three while averaging 1.9 points in 17 games off the bench, after also showing perimeter pop in 2021-22. She has a reputation as a streaky-but-dangerous shooter who can swing a possession with instant offense, and earlier stops highlighted scoring bursts and confidence from deep. She looks like a fit for teams needing a low-usage guard who can stretch defenses, compete with energy, and give second-unit minutes without needing the ball a lot.[2][1]
