Jalen Ramsey at Florida State: the rare, ultra-competitive hybrid DB who changes the math
In his Florida State career, Jalen Ramsey piled up 181 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, 3 interceptions and 22 passes defended across 41 games, but the bigger story was his versatility and edge[4]. NFL scouting reports praised him as a rare, ultra-competitive hybrid defensive back with exceptional skills and a high football IQ, the kind of defender who can erase matchups, blitz, and play with visible fire[8]. His college production never screamed “video-game stats,” but it absolutely screamed “top-flight secondary weapon,” which is exactly why he was a fit for teams wanting a tone-setter, not just a cover guy[13].
