Nate Brittain brings size, strikeout feel, and upside to Duke’s right-handed pitching mix
Brittain is a 6'4" right-hander with real starter traits: he was a CAA All-Rookie selection at Campbell in 2024, showed he can miss bats with 41 strikeouts in 37.1 innings, and flashed his best version in longer outings, including a six-inning, seven-strikeout win. His 2024 ERA was bumpy, so he fits more as a developmental upside arm than a finished product, but his frame, early collegiate experience, and ability to work both as a starter and in relief make him an intriguing fit for a staff looking for projection and innings growth.
