James 'Pop' Weathers: Xavier (LA) Grad Transfer Guard Delivering Steady Spark Plug Production
In the 2024-25 season with Xavier (LA) Gold Nuggets, 5-11 graduate student James Weathers averages 7.0 PTS, 2.0 REB, and a team-high 3.0 AST per game at 37.5% FG (per ESPN), thriving as a quick, crafty Baton Rouge native who previously suited up for East Texas A&M Lions. His pesky on-ball defense, playmaking vision, and fearless drives make him a high-motor combo guard differentiator—perfect for teams needing an intense, undersized leader who elevates lineups without dominating the stat sheet. No major injury flags; care because he's a gritty glue guy ready to compete now.
