John Curl brings left-handed power upside and a strong infield profile to Indiana State
Curl is an intriguing Indiana State first baseman because his profile blends size, left-handed bat potential, and a track record of loud tools—Prep Baseball Report lists an exit velocity max of 99.8 mph, hand speed of 26.4, and an INF velo of 79, which suggests real impact upside if the bat translates. His 2026 Indiana State line shows he was still working to establish consistency offensively, but the underlying athletic tools and 1B/INF versatility make him a developmental fit for a staff that values upside and patience.
