In the 2025-26 season, Julio Montes II emerged as Hawai‘i Hilo’s offensive engine, leading the Vulcans to a repeat All-PacWest honor and posting a conference-best late-season scoring burst, including a 35-point career high against Azusa Pacific.[2][6][9] He finished the season at 18.5 points per game with a sparkling .895 free-throw rate, and his .903 foul shooting ranked No. 2 in UH Hilo single-season history.[3][9] At 5-foot-11, he brings toughness, poise, and closing ability—exactly the kind of guard who can steady a team when the game gets choppy.[2][9]
