Dani Rauscher is UCSB’s electric on-base engine and freshman breakout star
In the 2026 season, Dani Rauscher exploded into one of UC Santa Barbara’s most valuable bats, earning Big West Freshman of the Year, First Team All-Big West, and Freshman All-American recognition while leading the Gauchos in hits and batting average. She’s a left-handed slap/contact hitter with speed, elite consistency, and enough gap-to-gap pop to keep pitchers uncomfortable; at one point she was hitting .452 after a .818 weekend and was nationally ranked among batting-average leaders. The fun part: she doesn’t just hit—she sets the tone, reaches base, and changes innings like a chaos gremlin with a bat.
