Caydon Laird brings momentum, strike-throwing, and late-game poise to USI’s rotation mix
In the 2026 season, Southern Indiana right-hander Caydon Laird has already logged multiple winning decisions, including a 2.0-inning, one-strikeout debut win and another win on May 14, showing he can handle pressure spots and help steady a game when the Eagles need a quick reset[2][4][5]. His profile is built more on competitiveness and reliability than big hype: the current info shows a modest but useful body of work, and his back-to-back 2.0-inning regional outings with five strikeouts suggest he can miss bats when the stage gets bigger[1]. If you want a pitcher who can compete, keep hitters honest, and give you valuable innings without drama, Laird looks like a solid fit[1][3].
