McKenzie Marranca brings rookie upside and defensive flexibility to Iona
Marranca is a freshman catcher/corner infielder who gives Iona a versatile, fundamentally sound option behind the plate and in the infield, with a background that includes First Team All-Conference honors at Williamsville South. Her value is less about flash and more about fit: she profiles as a steady, team-first defender who can cover multiple spots and help deepen the lineup as she grows into Division I softball. That makes her especially appealing for a roster that needs reliability, adaptability, and a player who can handle pressure without needing the ball to find her every inning.
