Will Barter brings a steady glove and timely bat for Maine
Will Barter, a redshirt sophomore catcher for Maine in the 2026 season, profiles as a defense-first backstop with enough offensive value to chip in situational RBI when it matters. Recent game logs show he has already produced run-driving contact for the Black Bears, while his earlier scouting notes point to quick hands, a clean transfer, smooth feet, and catcher pop that plays on the arm-side. For a team that wants a composed, fundamentally sound catcher who can handle the staff and compete every pitch, Barter looks like a smart fit with upside.
