ACU Senior Diego Cardenas: 69-RBI Record-Setter Earns NCBWA Second-Team All-America
Diego Cardenas is a left-handed hitting powerhouse for Abilene Christian who just shattered the school's single-season RBI record with 69 and added 25 home runs in the 2026 season, earning NCBWA Second-Team All-America and ABCA Central All-Region First Team honors [1][5]. His differentiators include elite run production (55 runs scored, 38 walks—both top-10 in ACU DI history) and a 6'0", 237-lb frame that generates massive power, evidenced by a 430+ foot home run vs. Texas Tech [1][5][9]. As a senior designated hitter/INF with a left-on-right bat, he brings intense, record-chasing intensity and a proven ability to drive in runs consistently. He's an immediate fit for teams needing a middle-of-the-order force who can score, walk, and hit for power, with no reported injury history and a reputation as a cornerstone starter [1][7].
