Rivers Kurland brings high-end lefty upside, but 2026 was a redshirt year
Rivers Kurland is a 5-foot-11, left-handed pitcher from Tampa’s Berkeley Prep who arrived at Florida as a highly regarded arm — Perfect Game labeled him the No. 15 left-handed pitcher in the 2025 class — and his calling card is strike-throwing polish, shown by a 1.35 career high school ERA and 387 career strikeouts. In the 2026 season, he did not appear in a game for the Gators, preserving eligibility, so the appeal is still projection: compact, competitive, and built like a future rotation piece if the stuff keeps climbing.
