Ayanna Patterson is back healthy and giving UConn frontcourt depth
After two injury-wrecked seasons, Patterson returned in the 2025-26 season to appear in 30 games with one start, averaging 1.7 points and 1.4 rebounds while shooting 51.5% from the field for UConn. She’s a 6-foot-2 forward who brings length, interior finishing and straight-ahead toughness, but her real value is in the resilience factor: she survived patellar tendonitis and shoulder surgery to get back on the floor. If a team wants a low-ego, physically capable post player with upside still to unlock, she’s a worthwhile fit.
