Lily Ornelas is giving Rider a versatile arm with upside in the circle
In the 2026 season, freshman Lily Ornelas has already shown she can handle multiple pitching roles for Rider, picking up wins and logging long relief and spot-start work while also contributing as a first baseman. Her best trait is flexibility: she can stabilize games with changeup-heavy sequencing, and Rider’s own game notes show she’s been effective when the Broncs give her run support. The early read is a competitive, coachable arm with a strong team-first profile and room to grow into a more consistent weekend contributor.
