Lainey Fitzgerald brings swing-and-miss stuff and two-way juice to Tennessee Tech
In the 2025 season, Tennessee Tech freshman Lainey Fitzgerald flashed real frontline upside: she fanned 14 in a complete-game win over George Washington and later won OVC Pitcher of the Week after adding a clutch home run against Iona[1][2]. She finished the weekend with 20 strikeouts and showed the rare mix of pitching bite and offensive threat that makes coaches lean in[2]. Her 2026 results were rougher, but the talent profile is still interesting—strikeout ability, competitiveness, and real multi-position value[3][4].
