Stanford’s 6-foot-5 righty Liam Golden has upside, but 2025 was a rough freshman first impression
In the 2025 season, Liam Golden made six bullpen appearances for Stanford and posted an 8.00 ERA across nine innings with nine strikeouts; earlier recruiting evaluations also pegged him as the No. 24 right-handed pitcher in California and a Perfect Game Area Code Select starter, which speaks to real arm talent and a starter’s pedigree[1]. At 6-foot-5 and 207 pounds, he brings the kind of frame scouts love, but the early college results show he’s still smoothing out command and consistency—more intriguing long-term project than instant plug-and-play ace right now[1][3].
