Sam Perry is flashing shutdown stuff for UMass
In the 2026 season, UMass freshman RHP Sam Perry has shown real starter upside with multiple strong outings, including 6.1 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts against Ohio and a five-inning shutout one-hit gem against Northern Illinois. He’s a strike-throwing, competitive righty who can miss bats, keep the ball off barrels, and handle workload deeper into games—exactly the kind of under-the-radar arm that can stabilize a staff. If your team wants a pitcher with poise, upside, and no-nonsense mound presence, Perry is a legit fit.
