Big-framed, downhill LB with JUCO production and real upside
Kyle Ferm entered SMU as a 6-3, 225-pound linebacker with a solid JUCO résumé: in the 2024 season at Citrus College, he posted 50 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and an interception, then saw his 2025 season at SMU largely derailed by injury and limited action. He’s the kind of fit who appeals to coaches who want length, physicality, and run-stopping upside; his calling card is downhill urgency and straight-line pop, while the red flag is availability. For a team, he’s intriguing if you want a high-ceiling, developmental LB who can bring juice once healthy.
