Chris Bedford is Hofstra’s tough-luck righty with swing-and-miss stuff, but command has been the separator
In the 2026 season, Hofstra right-hander Chris Bedford has worked 31.2 innings with 28 strikeouts, but a 10.52 ERA, 33 walks, and an 0-6 record show the results haven’t matched the arm talent yet.[1] He flashed his upside early by throwing 1.2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts against Mississippi State in February 2026, and his roster bio notes he missed most of 2025 due to injury after making just one start, which adds context to the uneven stat line.[2][9] If your staff wants a pitcher with bat-missing ability and resilience, there’s something here; if you need immediate strike-throwing consistency, that’s still the puzzle piece Bedford has to solve.[1][2][6]
