In the 2024 season at Fort Valley State, Josh Burney posted 21 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks, leading the team in sacks and showing real interior-pass-rush juice before transferring to Purdue. He’s a big-bodied DL at 6-3, 330 pounds with experience, production and kick-blocking value, which makes him intriguing as a plug-in run stopper who can collapse pockets from the inside. The fit looks especially appealing for a Purdue line needing size, pressure and veteran toughness—less flashy, more nasty.
