Max Hartman is the Cougars’ high-contact spark plug with extra-base pop and sneaky speed
In the 2026 season, Washington State outfielder Max Hartman has been one of the Cougars’ most productive bats, earning first-team All-Mountain West honors after hitting .333 with 69 hits, 13 doubles, a WSU single-season record eight triples, six home runs, 42 RBI, a team-high 56 runs, and 17 steals in 52 starts. He’s a left-handed hitter with a strong leadoff profile: steady contact, gap power, and enough speed to change games on the bases and in the field. If you want an athletic, high-effort OF who brings table-setting value and occasional game-breaking juice, he fits nicely.
