Crandall’s bat is carrying UC Irvine’s offense
UC Irvine catcher Zach Crandall has emerged as a redshirt senior momentum player in 2026, batting .352 with 15 RBI and earning Big West Player of the Week after a .471/.571/.824 stretch that included his first career home run[1][2]. His value goes beyond the box score: he brings right-handed pop, steady run production, and the kind of late-career development that suggests real competitiveness and polish rather than a one-week spike[1][2]. He looks like a fit for a team needing a mature, productive catcher/DH who can help lengthen the lineup immediately[1][2].
