Zaria Turner is Texas Southern’s ace lefty, giving the Tigers a legitimate shutdown arm in the circle.
Turner has been one of Texas Southern’s most important pieces in 2026, posting a 0.84 ERA with a 7-2 record and 67.0 innings in the Tigers’ cumulative stats, while also delivering seven shutout innings in a 3-0 SWAC tournament win over Alabama State. Her profile is built on strike-throwing, swing-and-miss stuff, and poise under pressure; she previously earned SWAC Pitcher of the Week honors after a dominant stretch that included 137 strikeouts in 87.2 innings. For teams, that combination of left-handed deception, consistency, and big-game competitiveness makes her a strong fit as a top-of-rotation starter.
