Contact-first catcher who was an instant impact freshman for D'Youville
Furkas made an immediate mark in **2024** for D'Youville, appearing in 41 games, starting 40, and hitting .301 with 37 hits, 26 RBIs, and 10 doubles while earning ECC Rookie of the Week and First Team All-Conference honors[1]. Earlier in the season, she was also described as a high-contact bat who was leading the Saints with a .400 average and .467 slugging percentage during a strong week[2]. Her value goes beyond the box score: she looks like a poised, run-producing catcher with steady offensive reliability and enough two-way trust to be a lineup anchor[1][2].
