Trent Roach brings Cal a big-bodied freshman arm with ace upside
In the 2026 season, Trent Roach arrived at California as a 6-foot-4, 225-pound freshman right-hander from San Benito HS, and his profile screams projection: power frame, right-handed mound presence, and a track record of winning big games. In high school, he authored a monster senior year with a 0.00 ERA over 78 innings and helped lead Hollister to its first CCS title, which hints at competitiveness and poise beyond the raw numbers. He looks like the kind of arm you want if you value upside, toughness, and a starter’s mentality.
