Shifty, gritty guard who can run an offense and pressure the ball
Maitland profiles as a compact, high-motor point guard whose value shows up in playmaking and disruption more than flash; in the 2019-20 season, he averaged 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game while handling starter-level minutes for Bethune-Cookman, and earlier in 2017-18 he led the team with 99 assists before an injury shortened that season. His best fit is a team that wants a tough, experienced floor general who competes every possession, pushes tempo, and brings defensive bite.
