Stanford catcher Ella Murchison brings smart, film-savvy depth with emerging pop
Ella Murchison is a Stanford catcher whose value is less about volume and more about steady, detail-oriented growth: in 2026 she appeared in 11 games and hit her first career home run on Feb. 15 in a win over Portland State, while Stanford also notes she earned Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll recognition in 2024. Beyond the box score, reliable profile notes describe her as a film-study player who evaluates both her own game and opponents, a useful sign for coaches looking for a thoughtful, coachable backstop with upside and team-first habits.
