experienced infield depth with limited 2026 production
De la Garza is a right-handed infielder for Arkansas-Pine Bluff who brings roster depth and experience more than headline numbers right now; in 2026 he has posted a .056 average with 1 hit, 1 RBI, and 3 runs, so the appeal is not current box-score production but the chance he can provide steady infield coverage and veteran utility value if his bat rebounds.[1][4] His profile suggests a compact, athletic college infield build at 6'0" and he has prior competitive reps from Temple CC and Austin-area baseball, which can matter for teams looking for a grinder who understands the game and can adapt to roles.[1][4]
