Sam Hunsaker gives Pitt a live-leg kicker with proven FCS production
In the 2025 season at Northern Arizona, Sam Hunsaker hit 11 of 15 field goals, was a perfect 45-for-45 on extra points, and drilled a long of 50 yards, which is exactly the kind of range-and-reliability combo Pitt wanted from its transfer pickup. He also earned Fred Mitchell Award semifinalist recognition, a nice sign that his game has national respect, not just raw volume. The big fit question: he looks like a composed pressure kicker with enough leg to matter from distance, but Pitt still has an open competition, so he’s not automatically the answer—more like a strong, experienced contender with upside.
