Chris Katz put Mercer on his back in 2026 — and the stat line is ridiculous
In the 2026 season, Mercer OF Chris Katz became a SoCon Player of the Year and All-America selection after crushing .386/.510/.791 with 23 home runs, 85 hits, 82 runs, 74 RBI and a 1.301 OPS. His calling card is a rare blend of impact and control: he paired elite power with a disciplined approach, drawing 51 walks and leading the league in on-base percentage, slugging, OPS, and total bases. He’s a middle-of-the-order bat who changes games fast, and his draft selection by Arizona backs up the eye test.
