Lukas Ungar adds experienced TE depth for Virginia, but is battling an injury in 2026
In the 2026 season, Lukas Ungar is a veteran tight end depth piece for Virginia: he’s 6-foot-4, 234 pounds, has played at Stanford and New Mexico State, and arrived in Charlottesville with one year of eligibility left after a 2025 stretch in which he appeared in the first eight games before missing the final four with an injury. His on-field production has been modest—three catches for 14 yards in 2025—but his value is experience, size, and versatility in a room that needs stable, physical bodies. He is currently working through an undisclosed injury and is not expected to be a featured offensive piece.
