Gabby Schaeffer is a versatile freshman infielder who quickly became a run producer for Mississippi State
In her 2026 freshman season, Gabby Schaeffer played in 44 games with 28 starts at second base, hit .250, and finished fourth on the team with 22 runs scored, showing she can contribute right away in a high-leverage lineup[1]. She brings more than box-score value: Mississippi State and Softball America describe her as a smooth-handed, versatile middle infielder with a strong work ethic, plus a decorated background of back-to-back state titles and a track record of hitting over .400 throughout high school and club ball[3][4].
