Morgan Vertz has become a steady, multi-use arm for Northern Iowa in 2026
In the 2026 season, Morgan Vertz gave Northern Iowa valuable innings out of the circle, appearing in 27 games with four starts, logging 60.2 innings, a 4-1 record, 39 strikeouts, and a 3.69 ERA, plus a save against Indiana State. She looks like a dependable right-hander who can work in different game states, not just a one-role pitcher. The differentiator is versatility: she has shown she can start, relieve, and finish, which makes her a useful fit for a staff that values flexibility, toughness, and low-drama reliability.
