North Dakota State’s strike-throwing righty with sneaky value
In the 2026 season, Matt Sargeant has worked 10.1 innings across eight mound appearances for North Dakota State, showing a usable arm with 8 strikeouts and a track record of attacking hitters rather than merely surviving them. The 6-foot-2 junior from Ancaster, Ontario has already shown he can limit damage, including a freshman year in 2024 when opponents hit just .159 against him. He looks like a developmental pitcher with starter experience, modest swing-and-miss, and enough competitiveness to stay in the mix for meaningful innings.
