Arizona’s high-upside lefty is still in prove-it mode
Roberts is a young left-handed pitcher from New Zealand whose profile is more about projection than production right now: Baseball America’s listed stat line shows a very small sample with a 45.00 ERA and 6.00 WHIP, so the appeal is in the arm and the runway, not the current numbers.[1] If you’re evaluating fit, he looks like a developmental add for a staff that can maximize a raw left-hander, but there is not yet enough public performance evidence to call him a finished product.[1][2]
