Michael Gupton brings elite speed and real power to Memphis
Gupton is an impact **center-field profile** whose best selling points are game-changing speed, above-average defensive range, and enough pop to punish mistakes; in 2025 he hit .333 with 15 home runs, 51 RBI, 50 runs, and 10 steals at Samford, and was named 2025 All-Southern Conference First Team.[5][4] Scouting reports still note an aggressive, somewhat raw offensive approach with contact questions, but his athleticism, top-end exit velocity, and true up-the-middle tools make him a high-upside fit if Memphis wants a dynamic defender who can change games on the bases and in the gaps.[3][4][11]
