Brenna Rush brings freshman versatility and promise to UMass
Rush enters the 2026 season as a freshman catcher/utility player for Massachusetts, listed at 5-9 and already carrying a strong off-field profile as a high-achieving, academically decorated student-athlete. Her value is in flexibility: she can help behind the plate or move around the field, which is exactly the kind of roster glue coaches love. The upside is intriguing, but her current college production is still limited, so she reads more as a developmental fit with long-term upside than an immediate impact bat.
